ICBC Medical and Wage Loss Benefits (Part 7 Benefits)

Generally, if you are injured in a car accident in British Columbia, regardless of who is at fault, ICBC must provide accident benefits (called Part 7 Benefits) to cover medical and rehabilitation expenses up to a maximum of $150,000. These accident benefits can include expenses such as physiotherapy or chiropractor treatments, medications, home support services, and medical equipment. In addition, if you are unable to work as a result of your injuries, you may be entitled to wage loss benefits. Accident benefits are an insurance claim and are a separate and distinct claim from compensation against the responsible driver for pain and suffering, wage loss, out of pocket expenses, and loss of earning capacity.
